Hello, and welcome to Muon Design, the portfolio of me, Ben Campbell. I am a recent Leeds University graduate, with a degree in New Media, and an avid interest in all things technology. My main passions include graphic design, web development and various ECMA style scripting languages; such as Actionscript and Javascript. I enjoy learning new skills whilst further developing existing ones, and am currently looking for a permanent role through which I can couple my passion for converging existing and emerging technologies with my love of creative design. Your Cartoon was one of my final year projects, the goal of which was to incorporate a number of different new media web technologies into a single, original project. The ideology behind Your Cartoon was to offer a truely unique web experience and offer customers an original, saleable product. Starting with an integrated character building apparatus harnessing Flash and Coldfusion, users would be able to name and design a character to later be placed in a cartoon scenario of their choice. Offering users the opportunity to change a characters skin tone, facial features, hair and clothing, users would be create over 4,000,000 unique characters. Once they were content with their chosen character, they would be able to add them into the cartoon scenario of their choice.
